INFLUENCE UNIVERSITY’S 5 LEADERSHIP VALUES
1
CHRIST FIRST
(Matt 6:33; 22:37-40)
This represents the Trinity of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe God must continue to be the first and foremost priority in the leader’s life. Our Christian leadership development has to be based upon Jesus Christ.
2
Community
(Matt 6:33; 22:37-40)
We believe once a person is born again, we are to be baptized into the Body of Christ or the Community of God. A person’s community can be identified by their relationships with the following: their family, their local church, their various ministry teams, and finally, the overall world around them. Within these four types of community, the leader’s character is developed as they depend on the example of Christ Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.
3
Character
(Matt 6:33; 22:37-40)
We believe a person’s character is developed as they walk continuously in the Holy Spirit. The leader’s surrendered obedience to God will manifest as the Holy Spirit strengthens them. The leader must rely on the Lord to navigate the challenges they face within the context of their community.
4
Competence
(Matt 6:33; 22:37-40)
We believe leader’s need to know the word of God and understand how to live it. Christian leaders must continually develop competencies, or skillsets, throughout their life and their leadership opportunities.
5
Calling
(John 15:16; Hab. 2:2)
We believe God has created each human being divinely unique, and He has a unique calling for each person. True calling comes from God and becomes the leader’s vision. The calling of God upon a leader stirs up purpose, passion, commissioning, and authority.
